Tasveer Maharaj, also known as Taz, is a Dubai-based multidisciplinary artist. His DNA series brings together ink, mixed media and deliberate drawn marks on paper, exploring the meeting of chance and control.
The works retain the bleeds, layers and natural texture of their making. DNA: The Code Beneath was presented at Avid Learning in Dubai in 2026. Each selected work is an original on paper, presented unframed in a mat board casing.
Soft forms and trailing ink lines suggest a drifting bloom of jellyfish. This early piece in the series explores life emerging from washes and deliberate marks.
